Bullfrog Environmental Tokens are unique, immutable representations of Environmental Attribute Certificates (EACs), a Real World Asset (RWA) digitized and secured on public distributed ledger technology (DLT). Each Bullfrog Environmental Token is one-of-a-kind, tied to a specific set of environmental attributes, making impact transparent and easily traceable.
Token features and benefits:
- Transparency: Unprecedented disclosure with verifiable ownership and data-rich metadata.
- Traceability: A complete, public, and permanent history (chain of custody) of the environmental attribute is recorded, from creation to retirement.
- Trust: Verification on the chain ensures the authenticity of the source, proves ownership, and prevents double counting.
- Immutability: Once a token is purchased, the associated EACs are permanently retired and cannot be changed, sold, or transferred.

Staples Canada, first to pilot Bullfrog Environmental Tokens
- Staples Canada, a Bullfrog Power customer since 2013, is participating in the pilot as the first company to adopt Bullfrog Environmental Tokens.
- All items printed in Staples production centres across Canada are bullfrogpowered with 100 per cent renewable energy.
- The launch aligns with the opening of Staples’ newest store in Burlington, Ontario. Customers will have real-time access to see the company’s localized renewable energy usage through in-store signage featuring QR codes that link to detailed information about the store’s clean energy footprint.
