Bullfrog Power recognizes CARAS and the JUNO Awards for their environmental record
Calgary—Bullfrog Power, Canada’s leading green energy provider, is recognizing The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (CARAS) and The JUNO Awards for holding one of the longest, consecutively bullfrogpowered events in Canada. Taking place from March 28 to April 3 in Calgary, Alberta, the 2016 JUNO Awards mark the ninth year that the event has been bullfrogpowered with 100 per cent clean, pollution-free electricity.
“So much of Canada’s culture is born out of the experience of our diverse environment, which is why it is important for us to engage Canadian artists who can inspire us to protect the spaces in nature we love,” said Josephine Coombe, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Bullfrog Power. “Bullfrog Power is proud to recognize CARAS and the JUNO Awards on nine years of supporting green energy. High profile cultural events like the JUNO Awards play an important role in developing conversation on climate change.”
For the 2016 JUNO Awards, Bullfrog Power is ensuring that its generators put 458 MWh of green power onto the grid to match the amount of electricity used by JUNO events, hotel stays, and the CARAS head office in Toronto—that’s enough clean energy to power more than 2,000 Canadian households for one week! Across Canada, Bullfrog’s green electricity comes from a blend of wind and low-impact hydro power sourced from new Canadian renewable energy facilities.
Musicians across Canada are also choosing to support renewable energy with Bullfrog Power. This year, JUNO-nominated group The Sheepdogs are once again bullfrogpowering the Canadian dates of their tour. Major Canadian musicians like The Tragically Hip and Sam Roberts Band have also bullfrogpowered their Canadian tours with 100 per cent green energy. Through their partnerships with Bullfrog Power, these Canadian icons are reducing their carbon emissions footprints and helping create awareness about the actions we can all take to reduce our environmental impact.
