Manulife Bank ABMs are now bullfrogpowered with 100 per cent green electricity

Monday April 4, 2016

Toronto, ON—Bullfrog Power, Canada’s leading green energy provider, is pleased to announce that Manulife Bank of Canada (“Manulife Bank”) is choosing 100 per cent green electricity for its network of more than 850 automated banking machines (ABMs) across Canada. As of today, Manulife Bank is choosing 100 per cent green electricity with Bullfrog Power for its full ABM network.

“Manulife Bank places great importance on the health of all Canadians and their environment,” said Rick Lunny, President and CEO, Manulife Bank of Canada. “By switching to clean energy with Bullfrog Power for our national ABM network, we’re able to take action on climate change and air pollution, support the development of cleaner energy sources for Canadians, and ultimately help create a healthier environment.”

Through the agreement, Bullfrog Power’s generators put 100 per cent clean, renewable electricity onto the grid to match the amount of conventional power that Manulife Bank’s ABM network uses. Across Canada, Bullfrog Power’s green electricity comes from a blend of wind and low-impact hydro power sourced from new Canadian renewable energy facilities. Bullfrog also uses Manulife Bank’s support to help fund community-based green energy projects across Canada—such as solar panels on schools and renewable projects with First Nations groups.

“Bullfrogpowering Manulife Bank’s ABMs means we’re ensuring the energy going onto the grid for the ABMs is coming from clean, green sources,” said Ron Seftel, CEO, Bullfrog Power. “Manulife Bank’s choice for green power helps to displace energy from polluting sources on the grid—and it also sends a message to all Canadians about the Bank’s commitment to environmental action and protection.”
