Ellershouse Wind Farm nearly doubles in size

On June 29, Ellershouse Wind Farm in Nova Scotia unveiled three new wind turbines! The wind farm now has seven Enercon E-92 wind turbines operating with a total capacity of 16.1 megawatts—which is enough to power 4,900 Nova Scotian homes.

Not only is the school home to an 84-panel solar system that is helping green Canada’s energy systems—those solar panels also help fund an annual scholarship for a GISS student pursuing post-secondary sustainable studies.
