Partner: Qqs Projects Society

Qqs Projects Society—a nonprofit on the island of Bella Bella—is empowering and educating Heiltsuk Nation youth by reconnecting them with their culture and land. With support from Bullfrog customers, Qqs (pronounced “kucks”) is installing a 7.3 kW solar project at its Koeye River Camp, which hosts 200 children every summer.

Qqs focuses on land-based education and cultural revitalization, with its facilities also supporting initiatives such as bear research, salmon monitoring and youth science outreach.

About our community projects

Activists and organizers across the country are working to transition their communities away from fossil fuels. We created our community-based green energy projects grant to provide critical funding for these local efforts.

All bullfrogpowered customers help fund these small-scale, community-led projects, including solar panels on schools and in Indigenous communities, education and training programs, and a cleantech accelerator.
