Partner: Northern Village of Green Lake

Three hundred kilometres north of Saskatoon, the Northern Village of Green Lake hopes to set a renewable energy example for other Northern communities to follow. Green Lake launched a 96-panel, 31.5 kW project on its community hall—a first step in a larger solar initiative that will provide much of the electrical power needs of the village. In addition to receiving funding from Bullfrog Power, Green Lake also received funding from the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150).

About our community projects

Activists and organizers across the country are working to transition their communities away from fossil fuels. We created our community-based green energy projects grant to provide critical funding for these local efforts.

All bullfrogpowered customers help fund these small-scale, community-led projects, including solar panels on schools and in Indigenous communities, education and training programs, and a cleantech accelerator.
