Partner: Town of Vulcan

Thanks to a partnership among Bullfrog Power, Peavey Mart and the Town of Vulcan, Alberta, Canada’s first solar park is boldly going where no solar project has gone before.

The Vulcan Solar Park is an integrated community green space and renewable energy facility that will generate 23.5 kW of renewable electricity for the community. The design and development of the solar park involved local students—and the site will include learning modules on solar power to further educate both visitors and community.

About our community projects

Activists and organizers across the country are working to transition their communities away from fossil fuels. We created our community-based green energy projects grant to provide critical funding for these local efforts.

All bullfrogpowered customers help fund these small-scale, community-led projects, including solar panels on schools and in Indigenous communities, education and training programs, and a cleantech accelerator.

Tsleil-Waututh First Nation Community Centre

The Tsleil-Waututh First Nation, located just outside of Vancouver, has taken clean energy production into their own hands. The band’s daycare centre is now 90% solar powered—thanks to a 40-panel solar tracker.
