We publish Green Energy CO₂e Emissions Calculators and Methodologies to ensure our customers are aware of how emissions reductions from the generation of their energy are calculated, and to make sure our customers are equipped with reliable, defensible estimates of CO₂e emissions avoided by the green energy produced on their behalf.

All of Bullfrog Power’s electricity comes from wind and low-impact hydro facilities that do not emit any carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides and sulphur dioxide (precursors to smog), particulate matter (which gives rise to respiratory disease), heavy metals (mercury, lead, cadmium) and carcinogens. In addition, our green energy facilities do not produce nuclear waste in their generation of electricity.

Based on information from Environment Canada’s National Inventory Report: Greenhouse Gas Sources and Sinks in Canada, Bullfrog Power can provide the emissions calculators below to estimate CO₂e reductions that can be attributed to each MWh of renewable electricity and m³ or GJ of green natural gas generated and injected onto the systems on our customers’ behalf.
