GabEnergy is a grass-roots community organization creating a renewable energy investment co-op to bring capacity and prosperity to their community. The Bullfrog Power community is supporting the early development of the co-op, helping accelerate the growth of renewable energy generation among the Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island.

About our community projects

Activists and organizers across the country are working to transition their communities away from fossil fuels. We created our community-based green energy projects grant to provide critical funding for these local efforts.

All bullfrogpowered customers help fund these small-scale, community-led projects, including solar panels on schools and in Indigenous communities, education and training programs, and a cleantech accelerator.

Vancouver Public Library

In partnership with the City of Vancouver and Solar Now, Bullfrog Power participated in the launch of a 16.6 kW solar rooftop on the Vancouver Public Library, an educational city landmark visited nearly 6.5 million times in 2017.
